The Independent Care Review would like to thank you for all your support this year and wishes you a warm and happy festive period.
2018 will be remembered as the Year of Young People in Scotland – a time when young people’s voices were heard, talents were showcased, and the status quo challenged.
The Care Review looks forward to more of the same in 2019 and will continue to make sure the voices of children and young people with care experience are at the heart of the Review.
A very special thank you must go to all the children and young people who have shared their thoughts, feelings, and sometimes difficult first-hand experiences of growing up in care. Your voice matters and will always be heard by this Review.
The New Year will be an exciting and challenging time for the Independent Care Review as Work Groups tackle complex issues, significant changes are made across the country, and honest conversations continue. This and more will take place in the next 12 months as the Journey stage runs until December 2019.
To support this work, the secretariat team are currently recruiting a range of posts and you can find out more here.
The Chair, Care Review team, and friends at 1000 Voices can’t wait to continue travelling on this Journey with you. For now though, the Care Review will take a short festive break in preparation for what’s ahead.
The office will be closed from the afternoon of Friday 21 December and will reopen on Thursday 3 January 2019.
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year from everyone at the Independent Care Review!
