This event is an opportunity to engage with the Independent Care Review and share your experiences as a member of the workforce.

The Scottish Commission for Learning Disability (SCLD) and the Independent Care Review are holding a focus group for people who have a learning disability and who have experienced care when they were young.

We want to hear from people who have a learning disability and have experienced care when they were young.

A brief introduction to the Care Review, followed by an opportunity for you to give your views on:

• The role of education in supporting children and young people who are looked after.
• What’s needed to give children and young people the best start in life.

A great opportunity for care experienced children, young people and adults to meet new people and local groups, and to learn how to share your views on the care system.

Meet some of the Care Review’s work group co-chairs and ask questions about their jobs.

Come along for a fun day out, with activities and food, in a safe and friendly environment.

If you are 16 or younger, please make sure you have permission to attend and are accompanied by a supportive adult over 18.

This year the Care Review will be continuing on the Care Day celebrations by holding an exhibition of participation work from across Scotland on Saturday 16th February.

This event marks the launch of the Participation Hub of the Independent Care Review and will be an opportunity for care experienced children, young people and adults to share their projects, learn from others and discuss how they feed into the Care Review.

It will also be an opportunity to connect with other individuals and participation groups, and to meet the Co-Chairs of the Journey work groups.
